Tessellated tiles are different to regular tiles as the colour is consistent through the tile. This means that any scratches will not show easily and can wear for a long period of time. They are a feature of front verandahs though the Victorian and Federation Period and are now coming back as a feature in modern design. They cost more to buy and lay but can be used where the impact will be most appreciated in the house.
